Your sofa is one of the most-used pieces of furniture in your home. It’s where you relax after work, where the kids do their homework and where the dog curls up on a Sunday morning – and over time it collects far more than the odd crumb.
What builds up in your sofa?
- Skin cells and body oils
- Dust mites
- Pet hair and dander
- Food and drink spills
- Bacteria and allergens
Vacuuming removes surface debris, but it can’t reach the deeper layers of fabric and padding. Over time that leads to dull colours, lingering smells and, for some people, more allergy symptoms.
Signs your upholstery needs a professional clean
- The fabric looks flat, dull or discoloured
- There’s a smell even after airing the room
- Someone in the family is sneezing more than usual
- There are visible food, drink or pet stains
- It hasn’t been cleaned for over a year
What can be cleaned?
Sofas and corner suites, armchairs and recliners, footstools, fabric dining chairs, headboards and office chairs. We assess the fabric first and choose the safest, most effective method for it.
Our four-step process
- Inspection – we identify the fabric, check colour-fastness and assess the soiling
- Pre-treatment – stains from food, drink, oils and pets are loosened
- Deep clean – hot water extraction lifts dirt and allergens from deep in the fibres
- Refresh – we deodorise and groom the fabric for an even finish
How long does it take to dry?
Most upholstery is dry within 2–4 hours, depending on the fabric and ventilation. Opening a window speeds things up.
